Rising Researcher Spotlight: Dr. Aliya Ikhlaque Modak
At the crossroads of global health and innovative research stands Dr.
Aliya Ikhlaque Modak, a dedicated graduate student of the USMD Programme at
Tbilisi State Medical University.
With a passion for pediatrics and a sharp scientific acumen, Dr. Modak is set
to present her recent research at the prestigious 4th World
Pediatrics, Perinatology, and Child Health Summit, happening October 21–23, 2025,
at Novotel Al Barsha, Dubai, UAE.
Her work, titled “Assessing
Atopic Dermatitis Severity in Children from Georgia: The Correlation of
Inflammatory Blood Markers to the Eczema Area and Severity Index,” explores
the intersection of clinical dermatology and laboratory science in the
pediatric population—offering a new lens on an age-old skin disorder.
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common, chronic inflammatory skin condition
that significantly affects children’s quality of life. Dr.
Modak’s research focuses on the correlation
between inflammatory blood markers and the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI)—a standardized tool used by
clinicians worldwide to assess AD severity. Her study, focused on children from
Georgia, bridges the gap between clinical observation and biological data.
Benefits of the Study
✅ Clinical
Precision: By linking objective
inflammatory markers with EASI scores, the study could enhance diagnostic
accuracy and individualize treatment plans.
✅ Regional
Relevance: The focus on the
Georgian pediatric population provides localized insights that are often
missing in global dermatological data.
✅ Scientific
Contribution: Her work
contributes to evidence-based pediatric care and highlights the significance of
integrating lab markers in routine assessments.
✅ Professional
Development: Presenting at a
CME/CPD-accredited summit fosters global academic exchange and opens doors to
further research collaboration and publication.
Looking Ahead
As she takes the stage at the 2025 World Pediatrics Summit,
Dr. Modak exemplifies the spirit of young medical researchers who are not only
building careers but also shaping the future of pediatric healthcare. Her
participation underscores the value of nurturing young talent and promoting
translational research in global forums.
We look forward to seeing how her work inspires more focused research
and better clinical strategies in pediatric dermatology.
