Spotlight on Dr. Zaher Taher Gardi: A Distinguished Consultant Pediatrician



We are honored to introduce Dr. Zaher Taher Gardi, a highly respected Consultant Pediatrician with the Arabic Board for Medical Specialization, who will be joining us as a distinguished speaker at the 4th World Pediatrics, Perinatology, and Child Health Summit, taking place on October 21–23, 2025, at Novotel Al Barsha, Dubai, UAE.

Academic and Professional Journey

Dr. Gardi’s dedication to pediatrics spans decades of remarkable service in clinical practice, teaching, and medical leadership. He earned his M.B.Ch.B. from Al-Mosul University in 1995 and further specialized in pediatrics by completing his C.A.B.P. (Pediatrics) at the Arabian Board Center, Mosul, in 2005.

Since 2006, he has served as a lecturer at the College of Medicine, Hawler Medical University, where he has played an instrumental role in shaping the next generation of pediatricians. His career reflects a strong balance of academic excellence and practical experience in child healthcare.

Leadership Roles and Contributions

Dr. Gardi’s leadership has extended beyond the classroom and into pivotal roles in pediatric healthcare and medical specialization:

  • Director of Rapareen Teaching Pediatric Hospital (2013–2015)
  • Supervisor at the Kurdistan and Arabian Boards for Medical Specialties
  • Program Director at the Kurdistan Higher Council for Medical Specialization (2022–2024)
  • Director of the Pediatric Program at the Erbil Center under the Arabic Board for Medical Specialization (since 2018)

Through these positions, he has significantly contributed to advancing pediatric education and healthcare standards across Iraq and the region.

Research and Speaking Focus

At the summit, Dr. Gardi will deliver an insightful talk titled:
“Autism in Children: Is It Easy to Diagnose?”

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) continues to be one of the most discussed and researched topics in pediatrics and child health.
